We had such a fabulous time from making the tin foil dinners earlier at home, to meeting Adam and Tess and Elliot there to celebrate Elliot's arrival.  I guess it was his coming out party in sorts.  Dad met him for the first time and we got to eat good food and enjoy one another's company.  We stayed till late and enjoyed the camp fire with Robby's guitar and chatting.  It was a great night.  And the weather couldn't have been better!

Adam worked hard on the fire!  The food turned out awesome.

Community Kids Fun Run

The boys participated in a kids fun run.  It was a 1/2 mile run.  We practiced one time at the track for them to get a feel for it.  They thought it was pretty cool to go to a real track.  During the practice, Janie saw them begin to run and just followed suit!  She ran without stopping for a lap and a half!  I couldn't believe it.  It was hilarious.  In the middle of the second lap she just stopped abruptly, looked up at me and raised her arms to be picked up.  Then she laid on my shoulder and didn't say a word.  I guess she decided she was tired out.  It was so cute.

This is a pic of the boys after the race had finished and they were walking away with their goody bags they had provided for all the participants.

Blueberry Picking

Blueberry picking this summer was just as relaxing and enjoyable as I hoped.  I wondered how Janie would do but she did great.  She loved it!  We skipped it last year with her crawling stage and I was so happy to get back to it this summer.  It really is one of my favorite things to do in the summer with the kids.  It turned out a good friend texted me while we were on our way.  We had such a fabulous time!  We ate lots and lots of blueberries for many days after and made muffins with the last of them.  Yummy, yummy!

Baseball Season

We tried out baseball season this summer and the kids had fun with it.  They mostly liked playing with each other at home.  George was quite the batter and Oliver really loves playing catch.  It was really fun to watch them when they played.  They mostly thought it was boring to be in outfield otherwise they liked it.  But Robby was quick to sing them the Peter, Paul and Mary song to remind them that is so common there is a song written just about it!  Janie loved to grab my keys and try to make a run for it unless she got occupied attacking Oliver!

Saying Goodbye!

This is the morning we said our goodbyes to the kids and Grandma Carol who so graciously stayed with the kids while we went to Hawaii for our 10th Wedding Anniversary!  George put on his Hawaiian necklace that Grandma Carol had brought back for him last Christmas when she also went to the island of Kauai.  She told us it was the most amazing place and should someday go.  So Robby planned our trip for our Anniversary and Carol stayed with the kids for us.  It was fun because the night before we left she showed us her picture album and all of her favorite spots there.  It was fun for the boys to see where we were going as well!
